Why Share Our Story?

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." - Chinese Proverb

When my husband and I got married back in 2017, I thought I'd be able to quit taking Birth Control and POOF, we'd get pregnant. I understood that it could take up to a year (90% of women conceive within their first year trying); but we were in no rush and remained optimistic for the first year or two, until we couldn't be anymore.

Fast forward to today, nearly 4 years later; with a PCOS diagnosis, a few fertility doctors, various medications and treatments, and countless Home Pregnancy Tests; and our optimism has turned to frustration and fear.

We've taken so many steps and paths throughout this process (what feels like a billion baby steps), from trying to understand PCOS, to undergoing treatments that resulted in pregnancy, to experiencing pregnancy loss. We've been through so much more than we ever thought we'd experience on this journey to parenthood.

One in eight couples are affected by infertility. It can feel lonely and even shameful at times, yet I feel empowered and compelled to shed some light on our experiences throughout this hectic journey. I am sharing for those that simply want to learn more, and especially for those who are currently experiencing the struggle first hand and are trying to cope.
